FAQ

HVAC — common questions

My upstairs is always hotter — is that a repair or a design problem?

Often it's design: undersized returns or unbalanced ducts. We measure airflow before recommending anything, because replacing equipment won't fix a duct problem.

Do you handle the permits?

Yes. Municipal mechanical permits and Technical Safety BC gas permitting are part of our installation scope.

Can one visit cover heating and cooling?

For a heat pump or a combined system, yes. Separate furnace and AC equipment is best served on its own seasonal schedule.

What's included in a plan?

An annual maintenance visit, service reminders so you don't have to track it, four standard filters a year, and automatic renewal. The Premium plan covers two pieces of equipment.

Should I replace heating and cooling together?

If both are near end of life, yes — matched equipment performs better and it's cheaper than two separate jobs. If one has years left, we'll say so.

Do you serve commercial properties?

We do both residential and light commercial work. Call us with the details and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a good fit.

How often should I book one?

Annually at minimum. Systems that run year-round, like heat pumps, benefit from twice-yearly attention.

Do I need a permit for a gas line?

Yes. Gas fitting in BC is regulated by Technical Safety BC and requires a permit and a licensed gas fitter. We handle both.

Need it sorted sooner rather than later?

Call us and speak to someone who can actually book you in — or send your details and we’ll come back to you the same business day.
